Extreme CSS ·

This is extreme CSS: recreating an image file using nothing but CSS. And then manipulate the image. This is truly amazing stuff. It's an image of a bunch of pencils. "So what?" i hear you say. Except, each and every one pixel is build with CSS. There is no image envolved.
It uses borders. These give three pixels at a time, one pixel comes from the left border of a div, the second pixel from the background colour, while a third pixel comes from the right border.
To give you an idea: there are 1,452 divs used.

"Web design is still a relatively new industry, run by a highly creative and technical workforce. However, because we focus so much on the creative and technological challenges of our work, we often neglect the business side of things."
This is an excerpt from Andy Budd's article on his blog. In this article, Andy decribes the importance of process in web design. It's a highly informative piece of writing.

If you’re in desperate need for a wallpaper to spank up your beast, you might take a look over at veer. They have some pretty kewl thingies there.
Now, on another note, i decided (lazy bugger i am) to finally take up some php. Yeah, i know, some amongst you will say “hey, don’t you have a knowledge about php?”. Well, up till now i just didn’t feel like it to break my head over it, but seems like the time has come to take the plunge. Jeez, why am i rambling about this? Am i that desperate to fill my blog?
Sorry folks, but at the moment my life is shitty and so i don’t have (as if i ever had) anything interesting to write/say.

I made a little trip this weekend, up to the coast. Yeah, in this freezing cold lol. Two days without laptop, was a bit healing for my system :-)
So, did i do a lot? Nah, just strolling along the beach, wined and dined in a nice restaurant. And because me and the g/f broke up end 2003 i went on a shopping frenzy. But that lead me to the thought that material things don't mean shit when you're hurting. But hey, i guess that\'s the way life goes huh? I hope 2004 will give me more joy then 2003. Although one highlight in 2003 was getting to know my best friend Dude.
